Under the direction of and reporting to the Director of the Center & the Director of Therapies, the Speech-language and Feeding Therapist is responsible for conducting Speech-Language and Feeding evaluations for the children visiting the center, to assess their level of functioning and their needs, and in addition creating specific programs and implementing therapy sessions.
Assess and create intervention plans for children with communication disorders/impairment
Write detailed reports upon evaluation and follow-up
Instruct and advise parents on a feeding/speech treatment plan
Work on appropriate language development and communication stimulation
Maintain records and case notes
Assess and address feeding issues of premature babies, children with developmental delay, cranio-facial abnormalities (e.g. cleft lip and palate), and neurologically impaired children (e.g. genetic, trauma, neuromuscular disorder, hypoxia etc.)
Oversee the continued feeding development of children and follow-up with them
Consult and work with team members of the multidisciplinary team to incorporate appropriate strategies and goals into the child’s plan to ensure the child’s fullest development
Maintain confidentiality about clients and their families
Band: 7 or 6
Fluent in written and spoken English
Minimum Experience: More than seven years’ experience as a pediatric Occupational Therapist.
Experience with Moderate to Severe Conditions

Hanen Programs (It takes two to Talk or More than words)
Kaufman apraxia of speech method
Alternative or Augmentative communication (PECS, Makaton, Communication Devices)
