The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) has primary responsibility for the oversight, management and coordination of clinical activities for patients on treatment trials in the Gwinnett Hospital System. This includes, but is not limited to, educating patients and families on the clinical trial treatments and required testing, triaging phone calls and proactively communicating with patients and members of the health care and research teams. The CRN interacts closely with institutional investigators and industry sponsors; collaborates with other members of the research team and ancillary departments. The CRN's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, patient screening and accrual activities, participation in the informed consent process and confirmation of eligibility, patient study registration, data entry, quality control for data compilation and submission, and oversight of regulatory compliance activities. The CRN ensures that the source documentation for the clinical trial is complete and accurate and submitted according to department and sponsor timelines. The CRN actively participates in planning and evaluating processes to improve and advance clinical research within the organization.
Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia Associate degree in nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred Three years of current nursing experience in a hospital or outpatient setting Two years of previous clinical research experience in Oncology, preferred Coordinator certification, such as CCRC, preferred
