Founded in 1975, The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit of its kind in the United States serving children with special needs related to autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, developmental delays, abuse and emotional problems. The Help Group’s specialized day schools offer pre-K through high school programs for more than 1,300 students. Our wide range of mental health and therapy services, child abuse and residential programs extends its reach to more than 5,000 children and their families each year. With over +900 staff members, our state of the art schools and programs are located on four major campuses in the Los Angeles area.
Minimum two evening hours required to provide treatment services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide individual and/or family treatment to children who are at risk of abuse and/or neglect and children with severe emotional difficulties.
Provide individual/family in home counseling services to and/or office based treatment to children and adolescents with a range of psychological, emotional and behavioral problems.
Provide case management services which may include interfacing with community psychiatric hospitals, Department of Family and Children Services (DCFS), Department of Mental Health (DMH) school officials, Boys and Girls Club representatives and law enforcement and others as appropriate.
Provide group treatment, parent support groups, parenting education classes as assigned.
Provide office based and/or in home counseling to clients within our various outpatient programs (e.g. Foster Family Program, Family Preservation Program, EPSDT Program, Community Bridges, Project HOPE) as assigned.
Provide outreach and referral services on an as needed basis (e.g. shelters, food banks).
Provide 24-hour crisis intervention care to assigned client caseload.
Participate in Outpatient staff meetings, monthly Clinical Department meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
Maintain client information in a confidential manner.
Maintain client charts in a responsible manner and meet all paperwork deadlines requirements.
Maintain productivity rate at required Agency standards.

MA in psychology, MSW, or Ph.D., Psy.D. in psychology from an accredited graduate program. Registered Intern or Licensed Therapist;
One year clinical experience with children and families; Some experience providing home based counseling service; Minimum one year experience working with multiple-issue families (e.g. unemployment, poverty, substance abuse, homelessness);
Strong interest in providing home based, culturally relevant counseling services;
Commitment to providing community based services to multicultural population;
