On behalf of Orlando Health, a $3.8 billion not-for-profit healthcare organization in Orlando, FL, MillicanSolutions, a retained executive search firm specializing in pediatric executive and physician leadership, is pleased to announce a search for an outstanding leader to be the new Senior Vice President of Orlando Health and President, Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children (APH).
The President will provide leadership, vision and oversight for the strategic and operational direction for APH. This individual will successfully implement and monitor the performance of both long-range strategies and short-term and mid-range plans to meet financial, revenue and operational objectives and goals. This key leadership position requires broad-based general management skills and a successful track record of strategic design and implementation.
Reporting to the Orlando Health Chief Operating Officer, Jamal Hakim, MD, the President will be responsible for leading the development of pediatric services in Orlando, the Southeast Region and for establishing Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children as a nationally recognized leader in pediatric clinical care.
Essential Functions Include:
Develop and lead the execution of strategic plans focused on building the Arnold Palmer brand and Orlando Health System as the premier Children’s Hospital regionally and one of the leading national Children’s Hospitals. Continually drive towards becoming one of the nation’s Top 25 Children’s Medical Centers.
Develop basic objectives and operating plans of the business, both strategic and tactical, and provide exceptional execution of agreed upon plans ensuring the achievement of operational and fiscal goals.
Provide strong leadership and direction to ensure that APH is operationally successful in the areas of quality and safety.
Ensure APH is leading the development of community outreach programs focused on serving children in the communities served by APH through city, state, national and privately funded grants.
Serve on the Arnold Palmer Medical Center (APMC) Foundation Board of Directors and the Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Board of Directors.
Function as an active member of the senior executive team and build collaborative relationships between APH and the adult hospitals/business units within the system. Work within the system to maximize APH’s success through effective utilization of system resources.
Candidate qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Business or related discipline
10 -15 years of progressive senior/executive healthcare operational leadership experience with a substantial portion in a pediatric setting; also experience within an integrated healthcare system is preferred
A proven ability and record of leading an organization through change and expansion
Knowledgeable of pediatric issues and innovations through active involvement/benchmarking with the Children’s Hospital Association
Previous experience in building a new hospital or large hospital expansion project preferred
Demonstrated ability and experience in leading a capital fund campaign are preferred.
