The Department of Pathology and Anatomy at the Eastern Virginia Medical School seeks qualified applicants for a full-time salaried faculty position as a medical laboratory educator at the INSTRUCTOR level. Eastern Virginia Medical School is Southeastern Virginia’s premier medical education institution. The successful candidate will join a collegial department that delivers components of a contemporary System-Based Care Forward Curriculum and several Health Professions Master’s programs including Contemporary Human Anatomy and Pathologists’ Assistant programs. The successful candidate will also provide support to the EVMS biorepository.
The duties of the successful candidate will include classroom, lab and small group instruction for EVMS graduate students, assist the Department in developing a histotechnology certificate/degree program and provide technical and administrative support to the EVMS biorepository.
Persons with experience in the following areas are preferred:
Administrative course experience
Familiarity with College of American Pathologists accreditation standards
Histotechnology background with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
Successful candidates shall have an Associate’s degree or higher from a NAACLS accredited program and ASCP certification in histotechnology with experience teaching in the biomedical sciences. The candidate should be an enthusiastic educator and willing to work as a member of a dynamic environment.
