Set in the breathtaking landscape of Northern Idaho, Northwest Academy is a premiere therapeutic residential high school that is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of older adolescents 16-18 years of age. Over a one year period faculty assist students as they transition to young adulthood. Northwest Academy creates opportunities for students to pursue maturity and success.
Northwest Academy currently has an opening for a full time Recovery Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Provide student evaluation and assessment interviews to determine necessity and level of treatment.
Develop individualized treatment plan for students for review by treatment team.
Review progress and update plans at intervals based upon program requirement.
Conduct and document individual counseling sessions as required.
Conduct and document group counseling, including psycho-educational, therapeutic process and relapse prevention group sessions.
Facilitate on and off site panels.
Coordinate student treatment with the interdisciplinary team as appropriate.
High level of coordination with interdisciplinary team with hands on approach with students during daily activities.
Work with the treatment team to develop aftercare plans.
Participate in weekly treatment team meetings.
Participate in monthly in-service trainings and presents on topics of expertise as requested.
Complete documentation and reports in a legible, accurate and timely fashion.
May be responsible for providing training to identified staff in the area of substance abuse.
Perform crisis intervention work and/or prepare families for planned interventions as necessary.
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field preferred; and/or equivalent combination of experience.
Certification in Substance Abuse Rehabilitation preferred.
Chemical Dependency and/or Substance Abuse counseling experience - prefer two years.
Work history reflecting experience in residential mental health facility working with adolescents.
Schedule: Work schedule will include some evenings and weekends.
Salary: The starting hourly non-exempt wage for this position is $15 - $19.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
