This position is to oversee the Oncology Services for the Orange County Region. The Executive Director, Oncology Services OC position will report to the COO at Saddleback Medical Center and the VP, Strategy & Business Development at Orange Coast Medical Center.
The Executive Director is accountable for providing a vision, leadership, and promoting innovation in developing and implementing strategies and policies to provide high quality patient care in a cost-effective manner. This job places strong emphasis on the following outcomes: delivery of quality services, applying best practices, creating a highly-effective work unit, developing and retaining excellent personnel. The Executive Director is a change leader for the Oncology Programs at Saddleback and Orange Coast Medical Centers, and works closely with the Medical staff and Orange County Hospital leadership for strategic planning, marketing and development of the Oncology Program, including advancement of philanthropic support. Additionally, this leader works in partnership with community organizations including but not limited to the ACS, Komen Foundation, Vietnamese American Cancer Foundation to provide community education and increase recognition of OCMC/SMC as a leader in Cancer care.
The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree is preferred. Five years of oncology leadership experience, and health promotion in the acute care hospital setting. Demonstrated experience and competency in operations improvement, program development, organizational development, and financial management. Knowledge of current leadership, management, and quality improvement principles. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, hospital leadership, genetic counselor, and clinicians to support a variety of associated committees, programs, and events. Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for areas of responsibility (e.g. Joint Commission, CDPH, Commission on Cancer, NAPBC, Lung Cancer Alliance COE).
