Set in the breathtaking landscape of Northern Idaho, Boulder Creek Academy is a premiere therapeutic residential high school that is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of adolescents 13-18 years of age. Over an eighteen month period our therapeutic boarding school faculty supports students as they learn to embrace their challenges, tap into areas of strength, and find self-acceptance. Boulder Creek Academy empowers students and families to achieve excellence in personal growth, relationships, and lifelong learning. To assist with the facilityâ€™s growth, Boulder Creek Academy currently has an opening for a 32 hour per week Student Life Counselor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: â€¢Supervise students to ensure that basic needs are met, and that the environment is emotionally and physically safe. â€¢Sets and enforces behavior management plans and student limits and provides crisis intervention as required to resolve conflicts and contain inappropriate and/or unsafe behavior, according to company policy. â€¢Develop, schedule and supervise daily and special activities of students, such as chores, daily and weekend activities, physical education, special projects, field trips, program trips and excursions. â€¢Assist students with academic work assigned outside of the classroom. â€¢Participate in all daily activities with students. â€¢Instruct students in learning skills necessary for completion of activities and safety practices to ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures. â€¢Supports the integrated team approach between Student Life, Clinical and Academics. â€¢Provide counseling/mentoring students to assist with individual work, peer group processes, and staff relationships. â€¢Participates in groups and workshops as scheduled. â€¢Assists with the development, implementation and modification of student Master Treatment Plan under the supervision of the Team Manager and Clinician. â€¢Responsible for timely documentation of student progress, incidents and other required paperwork according to program standards. â€¢Responsible for timely and accurate communication with peer group, team, and other appropriate staff regarding delivery of service, progress, concerns and recommendations. â€¢Responsible for Company and Personal Service Excellence Standards.
