The Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) supports over 86,000 state employees and other public servants through personal and work-related difficulties. When an employee exhibits job performance problems, those problems are often symptomatic of complex, underlying personal or work-related issues.
You will have the opportunity to assist employees and their family members in resolving personal concerns that may affect job performance. Because EAP is the behavioral expert in the workplace, you will play a vital role in assisting employers with addressing these issues. Assistance to public employees and employers not only benefits the employee's emotional well-being and performance, but ultimately provides a more productive workforce and leads to the benefit of Washington State.
In this role, you will perform EAP core services, including clinical assessments, workplace consultations with management, critical incident debriefings, and presentations to workgroups. You will also help develop and coordinate the presentations that EAP provides to workgroups on work/life topics. If you possess the passion to support the wellbeing of public servants and the ability to effectively partner with managers and employees to resolve complex or sensitive issues, then we encourage you to explore this opportunity and apply. You may be the perfect addition to our team! EAP is a part of the Department of Enterprise Services, an agency that encourages creativity and works smarter. We do not believe in the notion, "this is how we have always done it." Instead we actively embody, "how can we do it better?" As a DES team member you are trained to listen to our customers and develop work processes around their satisfaction. We build and maintain a human-centered culture, a workplace where our customers are heard and matter, and you are appreciated for the skills you bring to the team every day. We look for new team members who are dedicated to learning how we listen and understand our customer's expectations to create the solutions they need. We are an agency passionately focused on "The Big Three": 1. Customer Satisfaction, 2. Team Member Satisfaction, and 3. Financial Health. We measure our success and continually work to improve our performance based on these measures. We want to ensure both current and new team members see themselves in our Big Three, as well as our six key values beginning with respect for people.

About WA State Dept of Enterprise Services
The Department of Enterprise Services manages many business and operational services that state agencies and municipal governments need to deliver public services. Our centralized services include facilities and lease management, accounting, human resources, risk management, contracting and printing. Enterprise Services also manages the Capitol Campus.
We bring together the policy, planning and oversight of such services and are constantly working to improve their value and effectiveness and reduce the overall cost of government operations. Services provided by Enterprise Services allow state agencies and municipal governments to focus on their core missions.
Enterprise Services is funded primarily by the revenues we receive from the agencies for which we provide services. We endeavor to use our unique position as a statewide service provider to integrate various support services and provide economies of scale to save the state money and seize opportunities for Washington. In many cases, agencies can either choose to use our services or get them elsewhere; however, some services we offer are mandatory under state law.
We focus on finding the best value for our customers. W...e do our best to take the time to understand our customers’ needs so they can continue to work on their core mission while we provide "what you need, how you need it and when you need it."
