The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is seeking a part-time (18 hours per week) Executive Director for the Delaware Chapter. The chapter office is located in Wilmington and has a statewide membership of over 400 social workers and social work students.
The successful candidate will possess:
the knowledge, skill, and experience required to effective administer the chapter’s day to day operations;
a working knowledge and application of nonprofit association management principles;
experience in public policy and social justice advocacy;
an appreciation of social work values and the issues impacting the profession;
strong culturally competency skills that evidence the ability to work effectively with diverse populations;
hands-on experience in event planning;
effective communication, public speaking, and leadership skills;
a commitment to excellence in member services and engagement; and
a willingness and ability to travel throughout the state.
Compensation range is $24,000 to $26,000. A relevant undergraduate degree plus at least 2 years of experience in nonprofit association or other human service management required. A graduate degree preferred, with a strong preference for a social work degree. NASW is an equal opportunity employer.
