Nemours is seeking a Tissue and Implant Coordinator FULL-TIME to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida
Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children’s Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.
Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations regarding tissue procured for implantation. Develops and maintains a quality management plan so that all policies, procedures and records pertaining to tissue/implants are in compliance with applicable regulatory standards. Qualifies vendors of tissues/implants that are procured for implantation, and ensures process control of ordering, storage and issues of tissues/implants. Validates control of critical equipment. Designs quality assurance audits, reviews quality control results, and endures that deviation and adverse events are reported as required.

Develops and maintains a quality management plan
Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation
Develops policies and procedures for the ordering, storage, loaning/borrowing and distribution of tissue and implants
Develops and maintains quality assurance and quality control programs
Documents and responds to adverse outcomes, and coordinates process for returns and outdated implants
Maintains current understanding of all regulatory standards and applicable laws
Educates other staff regarding tissue/implant program including purchasing flow
Tracks and maintains record systems for all implants in accordance with regulatory guidelines optimize procurement
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 1 year surgical services experience required, prior tissue/implant coordinator experience, preferred
