Texas NeuroRehab Center (TNC) provides complex medical and brain injury rehab, chemical dependency treatment for adults and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.
Texas NeuroRehab is currently accepting applications for a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. The role of this person is to provide therapeutic recreation services to the patients, including provision of direct therapy and evaluative activities as well as coordination of hospital-wide activities.

Must be able to communicate with sensitivity to growth, development, and cultural issues.
Implement, evaluate, and document individual and group therapeutic recreation therapy.
Perform appropriate and comprehensive patient assessments utilizing tools and techniques in accordance with currently accepted clinical procedures when ordered by a physician.
Provide therapeutic recreation consultations to units regarding recreation and leisure issues.
Participates in program and department meetings and special event committees as required and complete duties as assigned.
Provides leadership to and coordinates Activity Specialists from each living unit in the development of a weekly therapeutic activity calendar.
Assumes personal responsibility for own personal growth.
Maintains professional demeanor in dress, attitude, support of unit milieu, and hospital mission and philosophy.
