The RN Nursing Supervisor is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of patient care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice and hospital policy, goals and objectives. Achieves cooperation, teamwork and high morale between departments and staff by maintaining a positive, attentive and interactive manner. Responds to staff, visitors, patients and physician's question in a timely manner. Consults with staff, physicians, administration and Nurse Executive on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure patient needs are met. Intervenes in conflict situations while showing support, trust and respect to all concerned while maintaining confidentiality 100% of the time. Provides nursing leadership and care through physical and mental assessments, laboratory testing, treatment plans and therapeutic treatments while providing supervision to the RN and Mental Health Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant. Knowledgeable of a wide range of disorders; cognitive, emotional, developmental, social and behavioral. Performs crisis intervention. Maintains costs and appropriate staffing ratios.
