Willow Springs Center is looking for 2 compassionate and dedicated, born leaders to promote to our Lead Mental Health Technician position. We want to grow and mentor our present staff to leaders of the future.
These positions will work 5 - 8 hour swing shifts.
The Lead Mental Health Technician provides oversight and mentorship to subordinate MHTs. They engage in leadership activities and champion the Center's philosophy on restraint and seclusion. They model appropriate de-escalation behaviors and promote optimal performance of the MHTs.
The Lead Mental Health Technician is specifically necessary to the Center's success in that they provide an example of committed, compassionate care that is key to fulfilling the mission of Willow Springs Center. They set the tone for the Mental Health Technicians; those entrusted with the direct care of the children we serve.
Mental Health Technicians work as members of the treatment team alongside other mental health professionals, therapists and nurses. MHTs work in the residential treatment setting and in Outpatient Services. They assist in observing patient behavior on an ongoing basis to monitor the effectiveness of treatment plans and document progress in patient charts. Techs assist with programs, activities of daily living, recreational opportunities and meals.
Mental Health Technicians act as a role model for our patients (aged 5-17 years) by demonstrating appropriate behavior and applying active listening techniques. They also establish therapeutic interpersonal relationships with assigned patients through one-on-one interactions in order to accomplish treatment plan goals.
Our MHTs protect patients' rights by demonstrating appropriate professional and personal behavior, reporting observed violations of patients' rights and suspected or known instances of client abuse or neglect. Techs are called to respond to safety and security issues according to established procedures and will transport patients to and from scheduled appointments and outings using company vehicles. Mental Health Technicians who engage in psycho-social rehabilitation programs may go into the child's home to provide skill building sessions with children and families.
Located in the heart of the Sierras, Reno, Nevada provides a destination location where employees can live, work and play. The location itself is a benefit; not to mention Nevada has no state income tax.
Working at Willow Springs Center means building a career that is dynamic and satisfying; having the opportunity to work and learn from some of Nevada's leading mental health professionals; and being a part of something meaningful that changes the world, one child at a time.
