Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is an 86 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Panama City, Florida which provides treatment options to children, adolescents, adults, active duty service members and their families, and Veterans. We have three Outpatient Centers located in the Panhandle providing IOP, Half Day PHP, and PHP programs.
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescent through geriatrics. The MHT ensures patients are checked in for group, and is able to intervene effectively in crisis situations. MHT's work under the direct supervision of the therapist on duty.
Essential Job Duties:
Act as liaison between family, department, referral sources, agencies, schools and other interested parties.
Provide supervision, crisis intervention, behavior management, & behavior modification as directed by the individual treatment plan & program guidelines, employing appropriate verbal and crisis intervention techniques.
Maintains professional therapeutic boundaries with patients and families.
Responsible for billing, patient census maintenance, upfront payment collections, and calendars as assigned.
