Under general supervision and medical direction, following the Minimum Guidelines for Electroneurodiagnostic testing by the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society (ACNS), the Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technologist RSS; utilizes best practice to perform Neurodiagnostic testing procedures including, but not limited to, Electroencephalograms (EEG), and Video Telemetry Seizure Monitoring including: Long Term Epilepsy Monitoring (LTM); Continuous EEG Monitoring (CEEG); Evoked Potential (VER, BAER, SSEP); must be able to participate in the On-Call/Standby rotation for after hours, weekends and Holiday coverage; is responsible for completion of daily work assignments, notifying management of supply and equipment needs, and proper maintenance and cleaning of the lab area and equipment.
Two years clinical END experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Orone year in a CAAHEP accredited END program and one year clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting as an END technologist.
Board eligible for credential in electroencephalography (R. EEG T.) from the American Board of Registered END Technologists (ABRET).
Successfully obtains R. EEG T. within one year of hire.
Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
High school diploma or GED required.
Successfully completes hospital, department and unit-based orientation.
