Family Medicine - Director of Research
College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine seeking Director of Research.
The Director of Research is a faculty position within the Department of Family and Community Medicine, reporting to the department chairperson. The Director will lead and oversee the research, and work closely with faculty regarding scholarly activity goals. A clinical practice is an option for part-time clinical researchers.
The research function is expected to play an increasing and important role in identifying research funding.

Ensure adherence to professional standards and ethics of research.
Oversee the development of budgets and policies and procedures for the Research Division.
Maintain an awareness of the goals and accomplishments of the University and of issues within the department and profession.
Instruction and supervision of student research training at both the medical student and PhD level are available
Maintain a research portfolio and assist others in doing the same.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Must possess advanced skills in research, funding and execution. Must have a track record of funded research.
Should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and have experience designing effective work-flow management policies. Prior experience obtaining and executing grants is required as is the experience of implementing best practices in a research environment.
Minimum qualifications for the position include a terminal degree (DO, MD, PhD or similar degree) Administrative experience in project management, implementation, evaluation, and in-depth understanding of organizational processes and systems is also a requirement.
The Director must possess an ability to think strategically, delegate responsibility, listen carefully, build consensus and communicate and advocate effectively in a complex matrix organization.
