The Indiana University Department of Family Medicine seeks a Marriage and Family Therapy doctoral student for an academically focused doctoral internship in their Family Medicine Residency Program. The intern will be engaged in teaching psychosocial and behavioral medicine curricula to family medicine resident-physicians, provide medical family therapy with patients of the IU-Methodist Family Medicine Center, and have opportunities to engage in department and medical school professional development programs and scholarly activities. Teaching is provided to resident-physicians through rotations, didactic sessions, small group discussions, inpatient teaching, professional development groups, and direct observations of residents.

The department seeks a pre-doc or post-doc candidate with a strong interest in academic medicine. Applicants must be post-master’s degree and have all PhD prerequisites and coursework completed. Ability to teach in a highly applied setting, willingness to learn about medical education and healthcare delivery, and a high tolerance for ambiguity and change are important.
