JOB TITLE: Phlebotomy Team Leader LOCATION: Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center DEPARTMENT: Laboratory Medicine WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Leads and coordinates the daily operations of a designated laboratory functional area (or shift), in collaboration with Analytical Specialists, Doctoral Directors, Laboratory Operations Director/Manager and department Chairman. Plans, organizes and directs the activities of section personnel to provide optimal, cost-effective delivery of services according to departmental standards of quality, productivity and performance.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Reports to the Customer Support Team Operations Director.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Requires good organization skills and effective communication skills, as well as mature decision-making skills.
Demonstrates leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in life science or related field required. Minimum of six (6) years relevant experience in phlebotomy practices required or minimum of eight (8) years work experience including supervision in a progressive medical laboratory setting may substitute for the degree requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office environment. On-call rotation. No weekends, no holidays. Work obligations are subject to change per operational need.
