JOB TITLE: Respiratory Therapist Clinician I LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center Hospital DEPARTMENT: Respiratory Therapy WORK SCHEDULE: Rotation WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Works independently and collaboratively with the team leader(s) to assess, develop, coordinate specific education needs and provides and evaluates programs. Assures programs are based upon advances in healthcare, are age specific and when applicable, comply with regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates knowledge of theory and principals in the development and delivery of educational programs. Contributes to the professional growth of the Respiratory Care Department. Performs respiratory skills appropriate to license and/or legal credential. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to GHS and unit specific Service Standards. Reports to the Team Leaders. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated the ability to work independently. Demonstrated basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with physicians, team leaders, therapists, as well as other healthcare professionals.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Successful completion of a Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited education program in respiratory care required. RRT with current Pennsylvania licensure or eligibility required. Certification in specialty area is recommended. Minimum of 1 year RRT experience with public speaking experience preferred. GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER: (GMC), located Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.
