Internship opening (PT) at North Brooklyn Marriage and Family Therapy We are seeking an intern or practicum student in MFT to join our growing private practice community in North Brooklyn.
About this position: This is a part-time internship (gradual buildup to a caseload of 8-12 clients). Students will work within and enjoy the benefits of a strong community of clinicians, with a practice-wide commitment to comprehensive training, ongoing professional development and close supervision. Our ideal candidate resonates with a relational, humanistic, systems-based and/or transpersonal depth perspective. Ideally, candidates bring a broader perspective than MFT only— knowledge of psychodynamic theories, somatic experiencing/awareness, creative arts or existential theories is key. Best candidates are those who are interested in learning about the private practice setting, possessing a strong interest in work with couples. Life experience and previous work experience in professional career settings is very helpful.

Requirements of this position are:
Self-starter-- must build to an average caseload of 8-12 clients/week, with the possibility of more. 2. Must be in the office a minimum of 1 evening, also holding some daytime hours. 3. Must attend the group supervision hours one Tuesday afternoon per month.
The flexibility to attend 4 required yearly trainings and/or staff meetings, in addition to your client hours.
Experience with couples and interest in long-term work with couples within a private practice framework. Our clinicians usually work with 60-70% couples and 30% individuals. 6. Openness and a passion for working with a diverse array of clients.
About Us: We are a private, group psychotherapy practice offering counseling services to adult couples and individuals. We hold a relational, systems-based framework that attends to the mind/emotion/spirit of our clients. We are set up as a private practice training facility, utilizing practicum students and interns who are in the process of gaining hours towards a Marriage and Family Therapy License, as well as post-Masters Associates and fee for service licensed clinicians.
