JOB TITLE: Director, Care Management LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center Campus, Annex Building DEPARTMENT: Care Coordination WORK SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Provides direction and leadership to the continuum of care management program of the Clinical Enterprise. Responsible for the daily operations of all functional components of staff competency, software systems support, performance-reporting, interface with other clinical enterprise departments, policies and procedures. Responsible for compliance with all relevant regulations for interaction with all associated regulatory agencies. Maintains overall fiscal responsibility for the department and performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Clinical Enterprise. Provides administrative and managerial direction for Care Management and Utilization Review activities. Establishes an integrated approach and use of clinical and financial data in program design, implementation and evaluation. Reports to the Associate Vice President.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates excellent written, oral and presentation sills and practices active listening. Demonstrates assertiveness, conflict resolution, negotiation and collaboration skills and customer focused interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to effectively interface with physicians, administrators, regulatory bodies, consultants and customers. Demonstrates experience managing a Care Management program and/or clinical department.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Valid RN License in Pennsylvania required. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Health Management, Business or related field preferred. Certification preferred. Minimum five to seven years experience in Care Management, Managed Care, and/or Acute Care Management required, preferably in a multi facility organization.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office environment with light lifting. Frequent travel throughout the Health System required.
