Additionally, you will actively collaborate with the health care/educational team to meet patient care, outcomes and system improvement objectives. Additional Job Description Info: Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute (PBPRI) at Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist. In this role, a Physical Therapist has responsibilities to evaluate and treat patients with acquire neurological conditions and diagnoses. Common diagnoses include traumatic brain injury, stroke, tumor, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, vestibular dysfunction, and balance disorders. PBPRI is the outpatient interdisciplinary neurological rehabilitation program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In this dynamic environment, Physical Therapists work as a team with colleagues in occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and social work to promote community re-entry, and vocational and/or academic transitioning for the patients at PBPRI. The ideal candidate will have a strong professional interest and background in neurological rehabilitation. Special consideration will be given to applicants with experience evaluating and treating patients with spinal cord injury and/or vestibular/balance disorders. The Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute (PBRI) expands the traditional services of the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center by providing comprehensive neuro-rehabilitation services including:
The Institute serves as the neurological outpatient rehabilitation center for adolescents and adults at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Common neurological diagnoses treated include traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors and balance disorders. An individualized, structured program is designed for each patient with a goal of maximizing independence in physical, cognitive and emotional functioning.
Our therapists work together as a team to ensure they are addressing issues with physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning, as well as communication, visual perception and daily living. Because the goals of each phase of the rehabilitation process differ, each outpatient therapy program may emphasize different therapies and different levels or aspects of functioning.
