The Lab Tech provides laboratory data that supports medical decision-making for our patients while gaining experience rotating through Chemistry, Hematology/Coag/Urinalysis and Microbiology (planting and rapid testing). You will work collaboratively with highly skilled professionals producing quality and timely Laboratory results for patients in a 382-bed hospital with an active ED/Level II Trauma Center and full maternity services. The Laboratory features state-of-the-art automation while the Blood Bank utilizes leading-edge procedures for massive transfusion protocols for care of its most critical patients. The Laboratory is well versed in continuous improvement opportunities using LEAN thinking and is continually looking for ways to improve its services for the care of its patients.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in relevant medical lab/clinical lab science with MLT(ASCP) or equivalent certification; Bachelor’s degree with MT preferred.
Recent experience in at least two of these specialties: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology/Coag/Urinalysis or Microbiology
Experience with peripheral blood differentials, Gram stains and CSF/body fluid counts and differentials
Must be willing and able to train as a generalist
Assignments are primarily evening with occasional coverage into overnight shifts as requested, including weekend shifts
