Under the direction of the Site Manager/Program Director, your role will be to:
Maintain inventory supply and reconcile checks within a 24-hour timeframe
Ensure age and case appropriate food packages meet USDA regulations
Evaluate needs and training of all on-site support staff, particularly on WICSIS, builds and updates
Collaborate with Site Manager to track, investigate and respond to State requests regarding nutrition staff issuance of manual, computer or special instruments
Facilitate group discussions utilizing participant centered techniques and motivational interviewing skills
Communicate with other departments and outside agencies about customer interest issues
Conduct and interpret anthropometric and hematological assessments; complete documentation according to procedures
The ideal candidate has:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Nutritional Science, Community Nutrition, Clinical/Human Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health Nutrition, or Food & Nutrition, from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the New York State Education Department
Completed WICSIS competency training
Computer literacy and data entry/keyboard skills of 25 wpm
Effective analytical, organizational, writing and interpersonal communication skills
A comfort level with counseling, group presentations and working with various racial and ethnic groups
