An Ultra sonographer is a vital part of an interdisciplinary team. This position is responsible for communication with patients, Radiologists and referring physicians. Performs sonography procedures under the supervision of a Radiologist. Assists in preparing results of Ultrasound procedures. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of human anatomy and function, positioning and principles of radiographic imaging. Needs minimal direction or assistance. Is able to accurately improvise and change technical factors to meet demands of unusual cases.
Completion of two or four year AMA or equivalent Allied Health degree.
Sonography registered or registry eligible with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Twelve months actual full time internship or clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
Must have active credentials with at least one of the following registries: ARDMS (RDMS), ARRT (S). Will consider registry eligible with registry or certification achievement within twenty four months of hire date.
