POSITION SUMMARY: As the Chief Financial Officer you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information which allows LifeWell Senior Living to make informed decisions, to ensure stable relationships with banking institutions, investors, insurance providers, to provide and monitor statistical reporting, and ensure the operations team is supplied with appropriate resources to perform their responsibilities. The ideal candidate is versatile and can work closely with community level teams in addition to helping lead the company's long term corporate strategic vision.
Strategy, Planning and Management
Develop finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishes functional objectives in line with organizational objectives
Work in collaboration with the President & COO to develop strategies to help maximize occupancy within the portfolio of communities.
Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts. Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.
Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information. Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency.
Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
Establish finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change
Develop financial strategies by forecasting capital, facility requirements, identifying monetary resources, and developing action plans
Oversee operating budget.
Accounting, General Ledger, Administration and Operations
Supervise the accounting department to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases, and financial software.
Oversee the preparation and communication of financial statements.
Oversee the month-end close process.
Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems
Reports financial status by developing forecasts, reporting results, analyzing variances, and developing improvements.
Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organization's plans and operating budgets.
Represent company to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors, and officials.
Remain current on audit best practices as well as state, federal and local laws regarding company operations.
Annually reviews the professional liability, comprehensive, property, auto, and related insurance plans to maintain the broadest available coverage for the least amount of premium.
Coordinate all tax payment for the managed communities.
Works frequently with Board of Directors by attending monthly Board meetings and participating on the Board Finance Committee, Board Executive Committee, Board IT Steering Committee, and Board Investment Committee.
Oversees critical business functions such as the Accounting Department and the Communities Business Office Managers.
Assist the President & COO and/or other management staff any projects that may arise, which may require significant data, research, or other input.
Manage the Accounting Department
Understand and ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations concerning the department.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards. Immediately report all hazardous conditions or safety issues to the President & COO.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
10+ years of experience in Accounting and Finance leadership positions.
Senior Living, real estate property or asset management, hospitality and/or construction experience required. We prefer candidates with portfolio management, capital raises, and investor management experience.
Team management experience of teams of 5+ team-members with the ability to guide, train, and direct a team to achieve desired end results.
Experience demonstrating success in all areas listed above.
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required with master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated excellence with accounting software required.
Ability to travel to community sites as needed.
