Research Data Specialist II – Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking a professional well versed in data management and analysis to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment (ISUDT) program. This newly-created statewide program is designed to provide integrated, specialized care to patients with a history of substance use who require additional medical assistance.
In this key position, you will:
Provide technical expertise on Electronic Health Records System (EHRS) design and build projects focused on the ISUDT using Cerner Millennium Tier I, II, and III software packages within the EHRS Documentation and Decision Support Unit
Serve as a Cerner subject matter expert in determining scope, parameters, criteria, and the timelines required to design, build, test, and implement real-time front-end clinical decision support and documentation methods in EHRS
Develop clinical scoring criteria to aid in decision-making, including Order Sets, Discrete Task Arrays, PowerForms, PowerPlans, Mpages, InterQual, and CarePathways to ensure the accuracy of and availability of relevant information at the point of care
Provide build and configuration guidance, and training to lower level staff on Cerner Millenium Tier I, II, and III software packages; lead in the development of Cerner tools and third-party software packages to capture, present, and create system elements required to provide direct care to patients
To thrive in this role, you must have:
A minimum of 12 semester or 18 quarter units in any combination of a data-driven research-related field, such as economics, mathematics, psychology, sociology, demography, geography, anthropology, or statistics, which must also include at least one course in statistical methods; and equivalent to graduation with a bachelor’s degree. Work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis by applicants who have the required units. A master’s degree in the areas noted above may be substituted for two years of the required experience. A doctoral degree in the areas noted above may be substituted for three years of the required experience.
Additionally, you must meet minimum qualifications through one of the following paths:
Five years of progressively responsible quantitative and qualitative data research experience engaged in the collection, compilation, manipulation, analysis, and interpretation of data.
One year of experience in California state service performing data research-oriented duties equivalent to a Research Data Specialist I
