Responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the section. Performs routine and complex Laboratory procedures.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the phlebotomy section to ensure that this area meets the needs and expectations of HealthEast and its customers.
Assists with laboratory department administrative functions.
Organizes and directs the training of new employees.
Organizes and directs the training of students.
Performs specimen collection and processing to ensure the accurate and appropriate performance of patient testing.
Reviews, follows and understands established laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology), or Biological, Chemical, or Physical Sciences
Possess appropriate HHS approved laboratory certification (ASCP or AMT).
Two year experience of hospital laboratory testing, collections and processing
