Eggleston Youth Centers seeks a goal-oriented administrator with an open and engaging leadership style as its next Director of Behavioral Health. Established in 1974, Eggleston Youth Centers is a licensed, nonprofit, social service agency serving children, youth and families in Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties. Founded almost five decades ago, Eggleston began as a six-bed foster home for abused and neglected foster youth. Eggleston has responded to the growing needs of childhood trauma, mental illness, emotional problems, substance abuse, crime, and domestic violence. It has expanded its program operations through managed growth to include the following departments: Residential Treatment, Foster Care, Adoptions, Behavioral Health, Substance Use Disorder, Human Resources, and Accounting. Reporting to the Assistant Executive Director, the Director of Behavioral Health will hold a key leadership role at Eggleston and is responsible for leadership, vision, and innovation for all behavioral health operations, policy, clinical services, and strategic planning. During a time of department growth, the Director of Behavioral Health will manage the expansion of mental health services and establish direct priorities for division projects and new initiatives.
Candidates will have a minimum of four years of leadership experience in the development of child service programs and administration of grant and contact funded programs. The successful candidate should have a general knowledge of the regulations governing child welfare and mental health agencies. Being skilled in financial planning, regulatory guidelines, contract management and applicable laws and regulations pertaining to the Department of Behavioral Health is essential. Experience working with county and state funding agencies would be beneficial. Experience working in California is preferred. A Master’s Degree in social work, health care, psychology or related field is required. LCSW or LMFT certification in the state of California is also required.
