Job Summary:
The Nursing Assistant assists with the delivery of patient care in the Cardiac and Vascular Stepdown unit. The Nursing Assistant assist with both delivery and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse in the Cardiac and Vascular Stepdown department. This Nursing Assistant/ Care Partner role offers a $1,000 signing bonus to eligible new hires.
Department/Unit Summary
A typical shift includes working with a dedicated team to care for cardiac and vascular diagnoses with specialized needs including patients undergoing vascular surgeries pre- and post-op, arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, and patients' pre-open heart surgery. We care for adult patients 18 and older who are being treated for a variety of conditions, including patients undergoing vascular surgeries pre- and post-op, arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, and patients' pre-open heart surgery. Our patients are unique because we see a variety of cardiac and vascular diagnoses with specialized needs.One of the perks of working on this unit is we have an incredible culture and embrace teamwork. Our staff is very engaged with problem-solving and identifying ways to improve patient care on the unit.

- Full-Time, Nights (7pm - 7am)
- Full-Time, Days (7am - 7pm)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Assists with day to day delivery of patient care.
- Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
- Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
- Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:
CLINICAL COMPETENCIES (NOVICE): - Demonstrates sufficient fundamental proficiency to assist and perform clinical care including but not limited to vital signs, phlebotomy, specimen collection and point of care testing as directed by unit standards.
CARE PARTNER PATIENT DOCUMENTATION (FUNDAMENTAL AWARENESS): - Has limited experience or training working with clinical applications for patient documentation.
ENVIRONMENT OF CARE (FUNDAMENTAL AWARENESS): - Has limited experience or training working with set up and maintenance of patient exam rooms, supplies and equipment.
PLANNING & ORGANIZING (FUNDAMENTAL AWARENESS): - Demonstrates ability to anticipate basic resource needs, identify discrete tasks, set priorities, define dependencies, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work for own assignments and responsibilities.
