This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The Emergency Room/In-Patient Psychiatry Clinical Social Worker provides part-time coverage to the Emergency Department (ED) for mental health evaluation, immediate intervention, referral, and interdisciplinary care for veterans and active duty military personnel presenting with emotional and mental health crisis. This may include telephone intervention for callers stating suicidal ideation or intention; face-to-face evaluation with veterans presenting with previously undiagnosed anxiety, depression, or other disorders; services for individuals with preexisting diagnoses and now at a point of crisis; as well as case finding and activities among veterans receiving medical services in the ED. Incumbent also serves as the Resource Coordinator for Social Work Services.
