The Local Recovery Coordinator (LRC) serves as an internal consultant to promote Recovery-Oriented Mental Health practice within the Charlie Norwood VAMC. Incumbent reports directly to the Chief of Social Work service line or designee. Provides training/education to staff, Veterans, and their families on Recovery-Oriented Care. Coordinates local Recovery awareness activities during Mental Health Awareness Month. Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Veterans with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) have access to integrated recovery oriented care services, including coordination of National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI) Home Front trainings. Is responsible for the quarterly SMI Re-Engage Outreach Efforts to include initiating re-engagement services to contact the Veterans listed and assist them with returning to VA care and to complete efforts to contact and re-engage the Veterans listed no later than 90 days. As a SAIL champion on the Mental Health Behavioral Health Committee, participates in SAIL meetings, develops and implements SMART action plans and best practices for assigned SAIL measures, and collaborates with other Behavioral Health leaders towards the improvement of the facility's MH SAIL measures. Serves as the VA Liaison for the Charlie Norwood VAMC Mental Health Advocacy Council participating in monthly Council meetings, assisting to facilitate communication between the Council and the Mental Health Service Line and the Medical Center leadership. Provides support as needed to help promote the Council at the Charlie Norwood VAMC and to the local community. Serves as a Program Coordinator for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Center (PRRC) and is administratively responsible for the clinic programs providing treatment to patients. Manages the daily operation of the assigned program and direct patient care services in the assigned program.
