This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. The incumbent participates in the planning and implementation of treatment programs for Veterans with substance abuse problems in concert with other professionals of these programs. In addition to providing assessments of the extent and consequences of substance use, the incumbent should be familiar with treatment interventions including individual, group, and family therapies. In addition, the incumbent should be familiar with financial and vocational planning and developing and utilizing community resources. The Social Worker will be involved in the formulation of discharge and aftercare plans with particular regard to ongoing therapy, placement issues, and specific substance related aftercare planning including coordination of halfway house contracts and community treatment programs. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Some evening and weekend hours may be required as needed. Financial Discloser Report: Not required.
