This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The mission of the GEC program is to provide intensive care management to Veteran's who are frail and have multiple chronic medical issues. The GEC Social Worker independently completes psychosocial assessments and provides social work services to GEC Veterans as needed. In addition, the GEC Social Worker provides assistance in meeting the psychosocial needs of Veterans enrolled in the GEC programs. Most of the Veterans followed by GEC programs have multiple chronic medical issues, which are frequently complicated by complex family and social problems. GEC Veteran's caregivers are often stressed and require much support and intervention by the GEC Social Worker. The GEC Social Worker is at full GS-12 performance level. Setting and general duties of the GEC Social Worker includes office, in Geri-PACT, inpatient in the Community Living Center (CLC) and home-based primary care (HBPC).
