This Social Worker position services as a Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD) Social Worker in Mental Health Service at the Eugene Community Based Outpatient Clinic in the Roseburg VA Health Care System. The duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: Treat Veterans admitted to the PCT for treatment of PTSD, and/or those Veterans with comorbid PTSD and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Fully assess and objectively diagnose mental health disorders, particularly PTSD, conduct screenings and/or assessments, and provide Evidence Based Psychotherapy (EBPs), specifically pertaining to the diagnoses of PTSD. Delivery of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and/or Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy for PTSD (CBCT-PTSD), either in person or via telemental health modalities, such as Clinical Video Teleconferencing (CVT) or VA Video Connect (VVC). Ideally, the incumbent should have successfully completed competency-based training in either or both CPT or PE. Other therapies consistent with the VA/DOD Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) pertaining to the treatment Veterans with PTSD, and to their families, may be utilized. Develop, implement, and document the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders. Consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. Senior May be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities. Functions in accordance with the policies, principals, professional ethics and techniques of accepted Social Work practice to include the NASW, professional licensing code, and State laws.
