About University of Central Missouri
The UCM Child and Family Development program offers a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development and a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences with an accelerated one-year program in HDFS and a two-year marriage and family therapy option. The program serves clients from the University, Warrensburg, and surrounding communities through the Central Missouri Center for Individual, Couple, and Family Therapy, located on campus. The MFT faculty are currently preparing the self-study for submission to the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. Additionally, on-campus clinical training is supplemented by a variety of off-campus clinical opportunities.
Child and Family Development is located in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies School of Human Services. With four colleges, UCM offers 150 programs of study, including 10 pre-professional programs, 27 areas of teacher certification, and 37 graduate programs all at an affordable cost that has been applauded by the U.S. News & World Report in their America’s Top 100 Public Colleges & Universities. Nearly 11,000 students from 49 states and 59 countries enjoy... small class sizes, learning opportunities with hands-on experiences, and personalized attention from dedicated faculty members. Currently, UCM successfully places 92% of graduates (across all graduate programs) within six months of graduation.
