Overview
Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Clinician for the Behavioral Health Physicians Department to work 9a-5p at Newton Medical Center.
Responsibilities
The Clinician position will be part of the Psychiatric Consult Liaison team at Newton Medical Center, providing clinical services, short-term therapy, psychiatric interviewing and coordination of care to patients admitted to the inpatient medical floors. The Clinician will work in conjunction with the psychiatric providers, psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, to provide services as requested by the medical teams caring for medically admitted patients. The Clinician will coordinate care with nursing, social work and medical care managers to optimize patient's discharge plans. The position will enhance a clinician's knowledge base of comorbid medical psychiatric presentations as well developing a broader understanding of the mind/body connection in treatment.

Clearly identifies reason for requesting treatment. Reviews and interviews collateral contacts (referral source; family; prior tx records) as identified and needed when appropriate. Completes and documents designated safety assessment and issues (substance misuse, suicidal processes, social stressors, firearms) Age Specific Competencies: Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric
Job Function: 03. Assesses clinical findings and formulates case presentation. Identifies all relevant problem areas, with disposition Provides clinical analyses of findings. Completes a safety assessment, formulation and mitigation plan. Identifies treatment interventions/strategies required & level of care Sets priorities & identifies initial treatment focus, referral needs; need for additional information Age Specific Competencies: Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric
Job Function: 04. Establishes Treatment Objectives. Determines accurate / clear problem statements Writes clear, measurable, relevant objectives. Communicates treatment objectives to medical providers, nursing and social work team members. Assures accuracy of communication of treatment objectives with coordinating teams (medical, nursing, social work.) Reassess treatment objectives based on ongoing clinical findings. Maintains accurate & timely record of insurance/managed care data and other such functions in accurate & timely fashion Meets designated productivity standards Participates in outreach and marketing efforts.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Master in Counseling
Masters in Psychology
Master in Social Work
LAC/LSW preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 + years experience working in medical or healthcare behavioral health setting.
