This position performs a variety of ultrasound procedures within the scope of practice and Logan Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
Minimum of one (1) of the following required:
ARDMS Registration.
Must be board-eligible and ARDMS registry must be successfully obtained within six (6) months of hire.
Minimum of one (1) year general/vascular ultrasound experience preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of OB/GYN or MFM ultrasound experience preferred.
Current CPR required as applicable to assigned area(s).
Possess skill in all ultrasound procedures and comprehensive knowledge of anatomy required.
Current Driver’s License required. Must have a good driving record clear of moving violations in the past five (5) years and no major driving offenses (DUI, etc.
Job Specific Duties:
Accurately and efficiently performs ultrasound, adult cardiac echocardiogram, and other imaging procedures as outlined by department procedures, exam protocols and as applicable to assigned area(s).
Obtains patient history, describes and responds to questions, and informs patient of when to expect results as applicable to assigned area(s).
Participates and coordinates patient care and flow. Provides for physical and psychological needs of patient during examination.
Provides images, data analysis and patient comments for diagnostic interpretation as applicable to the assigned area(s).
Maintains accountability to and for policies and procedures.
Maintains understanding of and follows current exam protocols.
Maintains accountability to technologist competency and quality control standards.
Stays current on training and continuing education.
Assists with maintaining and ordering supply stock as directed.
Maintains equipment and coordinates repairs and service as needed or directed.
Assists with administrative duties as applicable to assigned area(s).
