The Department of Applied Human Sciences, within the College of Health and Human Sciences, is currently seeking a 12-month Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. Serving as Clinic Director, this position will be responsible for providing leadership to the Family Center, our on-campus couple and family therapy (CFT) clinic staffed by CFT masters and doctoral students. This non-tenure track position will report directly to the Department Head.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Plan and oversee clinical and administrative operations of the Family Center
Supervise budget, clinical funds, and oversee all financial aspects of the Family Center
Lead Family Center public relations and marketing efforts
Teach graduate courses in the CFT master’s program
Provide clinical supervision to CFT students during hours of operation
Direct, develop, and maintain Family Center community partnerships both on and off campus
Monitor compliance with legal guidelines, internal policies, and quality
Promote and strengthen Family Center policies, practices, training processes, and clinical services that are socioculturally attuned
This 12-month position at the rank of clinical assistant/associate professor has a preferred starting date of August 2023, with a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Earned master’s degree (by start date) in Couple and Family Therapy or a closely related field
Successful experience in the areas of clinical work, supervision, administration, and teaching
Evidence of open, collaborative approach to decision making
Evidence of strong human relations and communication skills
Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations and commitment to diversity and social justice
AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor (or eligible)
Eligible for clinical licensure in the state of Kansas
Preferred Qualifications:
Earned doctorate (by start date) in Couple and Family Therapy or a closely related field
Experience marketing clinical services
Experience fundraising and preparing clinical and/or service grants
Experience providing training and services, along with familiarity with telehealth practices and guidelines
Skilled in developing relationships and networking with on-campus and off-campus clinical affiliations
Experience working with international students/populations
