Position Summary: The Involuntary Treatment Act (ITA) Coordinator-Hospital Social Worker is responsible for providing forensic services to patients who are going through the involuntary treatment act (ITA) process. Such services shall include, but are not limited to, evaluation of identified patients, preparing the proper declarations and petitions, attending necessary court hearings related to the patients, entering in relevant necessary notes into the patients' medical records and processing court orders and other related paperwork. Duties also include educating and guiding staff along ITA laws and regulations, liaising with Pierce County and ITA Court representatives and engaging with treatment team members for care planning, court preparation and alternative treatment measures. This individual works with providers, peers, community colleagues, and others to achieve collaborative practices that exemplify MultiCare Health Systems commitment to patient centered care and community engagement.
Minimum Requirements: 5 years post-MSW experience, 7 years preferred, in the areas of acute mental healthcare in an inpatient, outpatient, or legal setting Current or former experience as a Designated Crisis Responder preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Masters Degree in Social Work or Counseling from an accredited school Licensed in the state of Washington Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW); OR Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) with a commitment to obtain LICSW within 6 months Current Washington State Drivers License, proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state and proof of insurance
