SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The primary focus of this position is to enhance the patient experience for children, adolescents and adults with behavioral health needs presenting to the emergency department at the Milton S Hershey Medical Center. This will include providing direct therapy services and supporting the emergency room staff in the assessment of mental health conditions. There will be opportunities for training in new modalities, program development and education of medical and behavioral health professionals, trainees and students. This position will be part of the Department of Psychiatry's Multidisciplinary Consult Liaison Team. Applicants are required to have a Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or other relevant mental health field. Applicants must be currently licensed as a clinical social worker or professional counselor. Training and experience with the assessment of behavioral health disorders across the lifespan and in cognitive behavioral and supportive therapies for the treatment of anxiety and depression is required. Past experience working as part of a behavioral health treatment team and working in medical settings is preferred. This a full time position whose work hours will be Monday through Friday with no required evening or night shifts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field required
One (1) year of experience in the treatment of Psychiatric patients required
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) required
