SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As an Occupational Therapist within the Penn State Health System you will have the opportunity to work in a level I trauma center / academic medical setting in our Hershey Medical Center site. We are a 630 bed hospital attached to the Penn State University College of Medicine. You will work alongside a team of seasoned therapists with expertise in working with acute care patients of all ages, all diagnoses and all levels of care. Staff work closely with physicians, nurses, social workers, care coordinators and others involved in patient care teams. Our services are utilized by all medical specialties within the hospital. The preferred candidate will have experience providing Occupational Therapy services in an acute care setting. Daily clinical caseload will include the evaluation and treatment of patients in the acute care hospital to ensure readiness for discharge to optimum level of care for each patient encountered.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited ACOTE program and completion of clinical rotations required.
Must hold a Pennsylvania license (or eligibility) in Occupational Therapy.
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS*:
Able to stand and walk frequently; sit occasionally.
Able to lift/carry 0-20 frequently; 21-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-35 lbs frequently; 36-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
