About the Psychologist/Local Recovery Coordinator position:
The Local Recovery Coordinator (LRC) Program Coordinator position is part of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Services (PSR&RS) Section of Mental Health Service Line in Sheridan VA Health Carey System (SVAHCS). This position is only open to the fully licensed provider.
Responsibilities include collaborative development of short and long-range goals and strategic planning; development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that plans are carried out and goals are met; administrative and programmatic resource management; monitoring outcomes using a data-driven quality assurance process. Decisions made may affect staff and other resources associated with recovery-oriented mental health delivery and are made exercising wide latitude and independent judgment while coordinating with the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Services Supervisor.
The incumbent serves as a Mental Health liaison to the Sheridan community and communities of the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), responsible for the coordination of the annual Mental Health Summit in Sheridan Wyoming. Overall, the Local Recovery Coordinator provides administrative coordination, clinical expertise, and program development to the SVAHCS.
- Following the responsibilities as defined in VHA Directive 1163, the Local Recovery Coordinator provides oversight with a specific focus education, training and consultation regarding recovery-oriented treatment and programs. - The LRC is a subject matter expert regarding Peer Support as a recovery-oriented service and promising based practice with specific and clear requirements to ensure fidelity and supervisory oversight as required. - Facilitates ongoing monthly meetings and training with Peer Support in VA ECHCS while providing twice annual training to Program Managers to ensure Peer Support is utilized to the fidelity of the model. - Is responsible for the management of the SMI Re-Engagement Project which includes outreach to Veterans with SMI identified by SMITREC as being lost to VA care for over one year and the facilitation of Veteran's return to care based on Veteran's request. Rocky Mountain Network Human Resources Title 38/Hybrid Title 38 Functional Statement 666-56937-O - The LRC is an advocate for VHA Directive 1163.07 Services for Veterans Experiencing Early Psychosis (October 7, 2020). - Promotes the use and availability PSR&R services available (i.e. Peer Support, IMCHR/MHICM, PRRC and VHA VRS). - Identifies the need for recovery-oriented programming for Veterans with SMI. - Serves as a liaison to the local communities and is responsible for the coordination of the Mental Health Summit in Northern Colorado annually. - Is responsible for the development and support of a Veteran Mental Health Council. - Is involved in the development of a peer support volunteer program as appropriate based on national standards. - Works closely with the PSR&R Supervisor and other Mental Health Leadership - Fosters a cohesive interdisciplinary team environment. - Assists the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Supervisor in overseeing compliance with the successful execution of Mental Health Performance Measures, SAIL, workload, VERA capture, Veteran patient satisfaction, and quality assurance. - Utilizes the service recovery model with Veteran patients who express dissatisfaction or concerns regarding their mental health care as requested; provides consultation for all mental health clinicians in-regard-to the clinical care of complex cases. - Is responsible for furthering the goals of equal employment opportunity (EEO) by taking positive steps to assure the accomplishment of affirmative action objective and by adhering to non-discriminatory employment practices in regard to race, color, religion, sex, and affirmative action for the area under incumbent's supervision in the following: - Uses sound judgement in the interpretation of data trends and patterns; provides application of guidelines and the recommendations for the purposes of recovery-oriented outpatient mental health enhancements. - Performs work related to the review, monitoring, analysis, planning, and assessment of the recovery oriented mental health services and related projects and annual deliverables. - Represents the Sheridan VA Healthcare System as an LRC within the Wyoming communities served as well as at the VISN and national level by attending monthly conference calls and trainings as scheduled. - Performs other related duties as assigned.
