This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application

About the Sheridan VA Health Care System:
We are part of the Rocky Mountain Region Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN19). VISN 19 includes facilities in Colorado, Oklahoma, Montana, Utah and Wyoming. Our health care system consists of our main facility located in Sheridan, Wyoming. Its a 200-bed medical center, serving as the psychiatry tertiary referral site for VISN 19. We provide complex care across the continuum ranging from acute inpatient mental health care to mental health residential rehabilitation and interdisciplinary outpatient programs, and prospective candidates will help drive an integrated and comprehensive approach to the care of a complicated Veteran population. Sheridan VAHCS bed complement includes 20 psychiatric, 10 medical, 55 extended care, 115 mental health residential beds, and a 45-bed Domiciliary Residential Treatment program for homeless Veterans. We have five Community Based Outpatient Clinics located in Casper, Riverton, Cody, Gillette and Rock Springs, with two Telehealth Outreach Clinics in Worland and Evanston; and one Outreach Clinic in Afton, Wyoming.
About the Social Worker position:
The Local Recovery Coordinator (LRC) position is part of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Services (PSR&RS) Section of Mental Health Service Line in Sheridan VA Health Carey System (SVAHCS).
The position is defined in VHA Directive 1163 as being responsible for implementing and sustaining the integration of recovery principles and recovery-oriented services into mental health at all points of services throughout the health care system. Provides training and consultation to SVAHCS Staff and Leadership alike. Promotes and advocates for the availability and utilization of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Services including but not limited to peer support, ICMHR/MHICM and VHA Vocational Rehabilitation Services. Has oversight of Peer Support Services, working closely to train and development needed elements to ensure fidelity of the peer support model. Responsible for the development and sustainability of a Veteran Mental Health Council in addition to regular outreach and reporting through the SMI Re-Engagement Program as defined in VHA Directive 1160. Assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures; developing individual or group goals and objectives, as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating, and overseeing Peer Support Services and other PSR&R programs as assigned.
Serves as a Mental Health liaison to the Sheridan community and communities of the Community Based Outpatient Clinics, responsible for the coordination of the annual Mental Health Summit in Sheridan Wyoming. Overall, the Local Recovery Coordinator provides administrative coordination, clinical expertise, and program development to the SVAHCS.
