The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, at Texas A&M University invites applications for FIVE (5) full-time tenure track assistant professor positions with a 9-month academic appointment to begin in Fall 2024. The five positions complement current departmental strengths with an eye toward our growing research and student profile. The areas of interest are: (a) lifespan development (two positions), (b) industrial-organizational psychology, (c) neurogenomics, and (d) clinical psychology.
The successful candidate will engage in research, grant applications, and funded projects, teach courses in our graduate and undergraduate programs, and act as an engaged citizen of the department, college, university, and their field. We seek candidates who are well-positioned to publish in top-tier peer reviewed journals in their fields and to obtain grants from federal agencies and/or private foundations. Typical teaching loads for the department are 3 courses per year, distributed across undergraduate and graduate programs; evidence of teaching effectiveness is a plus.
For the lifespan development positions, population of interest and area of study are open, though applicants with areas of focus including development, senescence, mechanisms of change over time, or lifespan influences on brain and behavior within the social context are strongly encouraged. The successful applicant is likely to have expertise in: early emotional development; socioemotional predictors of disorder; aging clinical/neuropsychology; longitudinal methods, modeling, and/or other data analytic approaches; links between hormones and human behavior; stability and change in individual differences with a lifespan perspective; imaging with developing populations; the impact of life experience/adversity on later psychological outcomes; transitions to the workplace or retirement; or cognitive aging.
For the industrial-organizational psychology position, specialization is open. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching is focused in organizational psychology and/or candidates with strong quantitative skills.
For the neurogenomics position, the research area is open, but would preferably center on areas of existing strength in the department including neural plasticity, learning and memory, and mechanisms of neuropsychiatric disorders. Areas of methodological expertise might include application of next-generation sequencing methods with behavioral and systems neuroscience approaches to understanding brain: behavior relationships.
For the clinical psychology position, all areas of clinical science will be considered; however, we particularly encourage candidates whose research focuses on traumatic stress and sequelae of trauma, cognitive and affective dimensions of psychopathology, or contextual influences on emotional and physical well-being. The successful applicant will be expected to teach core clinical courses, including clinical assessment and clinical intervention courses.

A PhD in Psychology or closely related field is required. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for publishing high quality research in leading journals, writing and obtaining grants, and engaging in high quality teaching and mentoring activities.
