JOB SUMMARY:
Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary seeks tenuretrack professors, open rank, to serve as core faculty in our Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program. 

Our Master of Arts MFT program has a reputation for academic excellence and strong clinical training. We are nationally recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE). The learning community is characterized by vibrant student-faculty interaction and transformative practical training opportunities including our growing on campus Counseling Center. We reach across greater Louisville to provide enriching practicum placements for our students with strong clinical supervision. Our program focuses on student formation to foster systemic therapists informed by values of inclusion and diversity including spirituality and religiosity. In keeping with the practitioner-scholar approach, MFT faculty scholarship is valued and supported including clinical education and training. Our core MFT faculty collaborates in program planning and execution in a collegial milieu with program staff and clinical supervisors. Core MFT faculty participate in institutional shared governance with non-clinical faculty and administrators.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates should be prepared to teach and supervise MFT students. A strong and demonstrable MFT identity is required including one or more of the following: doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy, current AAMFT approved clinical supervisor status, or state licensure as an LMFT.

The ideal applicant will have:
• A Ph.D. in MFT or an allied degree with a focus in MFT (ABD with plan for completion may be considered)

• Strong clinical and supervision skills 
• Passion for teaching and student success
• A collaborative and strong work ethic
• Commitment to social justice and inclusion
• Use of spiritual (e.g. holistic, existential, mindfulness, person-of-the-therapist, biopsychosocial-spiritual), and/or theological integration in teaching.
