The College of Health, Arts, and Sciences at Oregon Tech, an Oregon public university, is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the MS in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program. Primary responsibilities will include graduate teaching and serving as the program practicum coordinator, which includes supervising master’s level practicum students.
Oregon Tech offers innovative and rigorous applied degree programs. To foster student and graduate success, the university provides an intimate, hands-on learning environment, focusing on application of theory to practice. The MFT program is housed in Oregon Tech’s Humanities and Social Sciences department – a collegial environment that encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly between healthcare and the social sciences. With a commitment to diversity, the MS MFT program has a strong curriculum informed by the needs of under-served rural populations in southern Oregon and northern California. These populations include Klamath Tribal families, migratory farm worker families, and families struggling with multi-generational poverty.
Qualified candidates will have a doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field from an accredited college or university. While ABD candidates will be considered, successful degree completion prior to January 1, 2026 is required for reappointment.
Qualified candidates must be able to supervise graduate students in practicum placements and possess the AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor designation, or be an AAMFT Approved Supervisor candidate. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach a broad range of classes that support our current curriculum both online and on campus. Courses will include lifespan development, developing cultural competencies, and sexuality & therapy, as well as opportunities for teaching courses in the candidates area of expertise.
Departmental Information:
The Humanities and Social Sciences Department offers Bachelor’s degrees in Applied Psychology and Population Health Management and Master’s degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy and Applied Behavioral Analysis. All of which support Oregon Tech’s general education mission. We are committed to our role in enabling students to develop intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, global knowledge, and ethical and cultural awareness.
The initial review of applications will begin April 18, 2025. Applications will continue to be accepted after the initial review date until a sufficient applicant pool has been achieved or the position is filled. Therefore, at the discretion of the University, materials received after the initial review date may not receive full consideration.
Oregon Tech offers innovative, professionally-focused undergraduate and graduate degree programs in the areas of engineering, health, business, technology, and applied arts and sciences.
