Announces a Faculty Position in Pastoral/Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy
Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary seeks as a colleague a full-time faculty member in Pastoral/Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy. Candidates for this open-rank, tenured or tenure-track position must have: a heart for teaching, a strong practice of pastoral care and chaplaincy, and a passion for helping to form the next generation of chaplains and pastoral care providers. The successful candidate holds a terminal degree (PhD or ThD; ABD with a plan for completion considered) in pastoral/spiritual care, pastoral theology, or an allied field. We seek a colleague who will enable our students to serve meaningfully in contexts marked by diversity of various kinds, including religious, racial/cultural, gender/sexual, disability, and neurodivergence.
The ideal candidate will have:
Diverse chaplaincy experiences
Successful completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and Board Certification as a Chaplain with Supervisor or CPE Educator experience
Integration of skills in family therapy, social work, hospice, or crisis intervention
This colleague will teach students in our Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Religion,
Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Doctor of Ministry degree programs. In addition, they will have opportunities to participate in the Black Church Studies program.
