Announces a Faculty Position in
Pastoral/Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy 

Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary seeks as a colleague a full-time faculty member in 
Pastoral/Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy. Candidates for this open-rank, tenured or tenure-track 
position must have: a heart for teaching, a strong practice of pastoral care and chaplaincy, and a 
passion for helping to form the next generation of chaplains and pastoral care providers. The 
successful candidate holds a terminal degree (PhD or ThD; ABD with a plan for completion 
considered) in pastoral/spiritual care, pastoral theology, or an allied field. We seek a colleague 
who will enable our students to serve meaningfully in contexts marked by diversity of various 
kinds, including religious, racial/cultural, gender/sexual, disability, and neurodivergence. 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Diverse chaplaincy experiences
• Successful completion of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and Board Certification as a 
  Chaplain with Supervisor or CPE Educator experience
• Integration of skills in family therapy, social work, hospice, or crisis intervention
• This colleague will teach students in our Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Religion,
• Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Doctor of Ministry degree programs. In addition, they will have opportunities to participate in the Black Church Studies program.
