The Social Worker provides direct clinical services within the Behavioral Health Department for inpatient adult civilian and forensic psychiatric units. This position is responsible for conducting psychosocial assessments in accordance with DSM-V criteria, facilitating individual/group therapy sessions as assigned, identifying needed resources and referrals, coordinating discharge process (when applicable), and collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure appropriate interventions. Will report to Social Work Supervisor.Â
Qualifications
Minimum Education Bachelor of Social Work degree from a school of social work
Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
Handle with Care (HWC) within 30 days of hire
License: Texas Board of Social Work Examiners LBSW, LMSW, or LCSW.
